Andreas Bakkerud joins Team Hansen for the FIA Extreme H World Cup, bringing with him one of the most decorated rallycross careers of the past decade.

Bakkerud’s story has long been intertwined with the Hansen family. A fierce rival in the FIA World Rallycross Championship, Andreas and Timmy Hansen famously finished the 2019 season equal on points, with Timmy clinching the world title on countback after an unforgettable showdown in Cape Town. That season cemented Bakkerud’s reputation as one of the fiercest competitors in the sport - and forged a mutual respect with the Hansen outfit that now transforms into collaboration.

Having cut his teeth in rallycross with back-to-back European Super1600 titles and a 2021 supercar class title, Andreas has since become a consistent frontrunner in World RX, Euro RX, and Nitro RX. More recently, he has proven his adaptability in Extreme E, first as a Championship Driver and later as a race driver with JBXE, where he impressed with his pace and tactical awareness in the unique, mixed-surface format.

Now with Team Hansen, Andreas brings his trademark aggression, car control, and race strategy to a team he once battled tooth-and-nail. His arrival strengthens the Hansens’ roster for the next chapter in sustainable motorsport as the team expands from electric racing in World RX to hydrogen racing in Extreme H.
