A phenomenal drive by Josh Fox secured fifth place in the iRacing Rallycross World Championship teams’ standings for Hansen Williams Esports on its series debut, flying from last on the grid to third place in the 10-lap final at Sonoma.
Fox had to get into the last final of the season the hard way, as he finished third in his heat after being collected in a turn two crash between Beau Albert and Dani Mitrani Fenollosa that cost him several seconds.
But the comeback from both Fox was swift and immediate.
From fourth place on the last chance race grid, Fox immediately jumped to second by the first turn, then pulled off a brilliant strategy to exit the joker side-by-side with Sindre Silva, muscling out the Nitro Circus driver for the race lead.
That win put him last on the grid for the main final, which was fifth by the end of the first lap as Fox narrowly escaped a pileup triggered by a collision between Ilari Lamminsivu, Rasmus Tuominen, and Mitchell De Jong.
Fox leaped past Tuominen for fourth when taking his joker at the halfway point, then slipped past Yoann Harth for third at turn two with two laps to go for the final podium spot to complete a stunning comeback drive.

His efforts were handsomely rewarded, his points haul securing fifth in the teams’ championship for Hansen Williams Esports plus sixth in the drivers’ championship for himself, winning $1000 in prize money.
Reigning RX2 and RallyX Nordic Supercar Lites champion Henrik Krogstad also had a great race of his own in the second Hansen Williams Esports car, finishing third in the last chance race.
Krogstad took his joker only seconds after Fox in the same race and slotted in ahead of then-championship leader John Robertson.
While Robertson briefly got back ahead via his own joker lap, Krogstad then caught and passed Robertson for third on the final lap.
